Thinking of buying a better 86 am i mad ??
Hello fellow fanatics.
I have had my ae86 for a little over a year now, frankly the car is done me a treat, it has run well, have just rebuilt the engine, and now the body work is falling apart, im a perfectionist, i love a smart clean car, my boot has holes all over the floor pan, the chassis has rust all over it and i dont see this little bugger lasting much longer then a few years maybe even as little as 1 year its that bad......!!!! So i have been thinking, to buy parts and fix her.... time.... money,...... parts and some are not available .....or BUY a NEW BETTER 86 from Japan I love my 86, i own a nissan skyline gtr34 Vspec II Nur, its also a good car but call me an idiot, the 86 is the sweetest ride i have ever owned. And i have had lots of cars 1 Toyota Starlet 1.3 Turbo GT 2 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 4 3 Another starlet Gt turbo Then a Subaru Wrx 4 door 1997 Sedan Then a two door Type R subaru impreza 1997 Then my Faithfull 86 that is rusting to hell may her soul rest in peice . I love the 86 out of all, pure driving pleasure, simple fixes and easy maintainance even though its old, i just rebuilt the engine, 189 000kms down the road and she is running well. But i need a good clean 86, i bought this one for a song 2000 usd and i have been looking around, for a good car from japan you need min budget of 10 000usd ??? I can imagine a clean hachi fetches alot of money and they are well worth it but should i be paying this price for a clean one or is there some people out there that can poiint me in the direction of some cheaper hachis ? http://exchange.goo-net.com/usedcars/spr...01001.html Thats an example of a clean one hows this for a 40 000usd dollar investment http://exchange.goo-net.com/usedcars/spr...11001.html Or even a automatic http://exchange.goo-net.com/usedcars/spr...11002.html These are the cleanest cars i have ever seen of their age. But i wont spend that unless i want to keep the car as a collectors item . I want to use the car for drifts and not have to worry about the rust all over . Its eating me up that the rust on this car is so bad . And frankly its the wrong platform for the type of CLEAN car i want. So please give me some free advice, krap on me for loving a 86 more then a nissan skyline gtr34 but fact is fact my little hachi is a machine. Its also the best cruising car i have driven. Nice all rounder, sure the shape is outdated but the fact is the car looks great with a good set of wheels and heck it even can compete with most newer cars around a small twisty track. Let me know your views and opinions . Thanks again Adam |
