AE86 weights list
Righto,
Everyone knows that less weight in an AE86 is better. It's the welterweight punching above its weight right? But what exactly can you do about it and perhaps more importantly, what can't you do? When we go online and start looking we find lots of posts that suggest that a couple FRP panels and we're at 850kg's. Some people claim that low 700kgs are possible with a full cage and serious cutting of sheetmetal. Lets try and see if we as a community can try and get an idea of how serious we can take these claims. Over the years I've weighed some stuff as it went through my hands. Mostly suspension stuff for my models, but some other stuff too. Logic dictates that when we add up most of the important stuff we end up with the weight of the final car. What I'm going to do is post some tables with parts, weights and where applicable weight saved. Hope you guys will chime in with some measurements you made yourselves. I will update them on a regular basis. A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |
