Carina drivers! - Coilovers for a TA60/62
Hey!

What coilovers are you running on your cars? What can be modded to fit? What fits?
My struts have a 90mm spacing between the bolts connecting it to the knuckle and each bolt in the strut tower is 107mm apart

I have heard s13 coils might work with some mods. I assume that I would need to buy a set of coils that dont come with hubs and weld the bottom of my own strut to the coil.

Tell me what you know, thanks!

Hi,

I have an TA60 Celica, it is the same platform as the Carina. I know the following:

FRONT
S13 camber plates work with minor adjustments of the bolts. MA6x Supra camber plates don't work.

For the bottom you should get a rolling center adjuster. The only ones I know of are manufactured by T3. AE86 ones DON'T work.
I think the easiest is to get 2 sleeves from https://www.rallydesign.co.uk , cut and weld your strut, get short stroke shocks, here is a complete guide

REAR
You can use AE86 coilovers, they bolt up if I remember correctly. I personally decided to go on the cheap way for the rear and just got a pair of yellow Koni shocks (AE86 ones) and stiffer springs (Nissan 350Z early models work fine, and they are 6.1 kg/mm, got them for like 30 euros on ebay for a pair).

MA60 roll center adjusters fit my carina. Currently run those. I was thinking of ordering custom BC Racing ae86 coils with s13 camber plates and then get ae86 knuckles to bolt them in the bottom.

I dont know if the knuckles will fit yet though. There may be some spare ones in my garage but i got some sudden engine issues to sort out first
