Quote:Thanks

I guess you mean the drivers side Yes it's not best fit, but for some reason, that side just didn't want to cooperate. It will have to do for now.

Being fibreglass it might be possible to force it into place.

Lol sorry yes drivers side.

That's odd, as a fibreglass one I've got on my passenger side of my Mr2 is a crap fitment as well - sits too high exactly where yours does toward windscreen!

Hi again

Back with a small update. I have a few projects going on right now.

- A slow 4AGE rebuild
- A quick shift like the DIY guide on this site
- Renovating a set of MA61 wheels

I'll post pictures of each project once it get them going. Right now, the focus is on the Celica Supra wheels :-)

I bought a set of four wheels a long time ago and they have just been sitting around in the garage. I got the opportunity of getting them blasted, and so I did and what a result. Sure the wheels have seen some curbs in its time but once I get them painted I bet they will look the business.

Hi again

A small update on the wheels.

I have primed them and topped it of with a bit of black paint. So now they are ready to receive some cool rubber and get cruising.

Any ideas for centercaps? They always seem to be missing on these wheels. Buying new ones would cost a small fortune. The center hole is 60mm.

The next AE86 gadget post could also be about the short shifter adaptor a had made.[/img]

I was thinking of going with the gold color again, but since the rest of the car is flat black i decided to stick with this.

I bet they are going to look great on the car. The extra offset is great.

Hi again

I'm back with a fresh update from the frozen Denmark. I have like 30cm of snow in my lawn right now Sad

I'm getting the car prepared for MOT Monday the 25th Big Grin I'm really looking forward to this. Not much needs to be done but just to make sure I'll need to do the following:

- Inflate the tires
- Adjust the head lights
- Measure the CO level just to be sure

The picture update today however has nothing to do with the above. I finally got the DIY quickshift done and I can't wait to try it out on the road.

I once drove a VW (Spits the floor) buggy with a very short shift and it was so much fun to drive. I hope to get the same feeling again with this conversion.

I used this guide as inspiration (Link)

First off I got the adaptor made by a professional on a CNC machine. Top job.

[Image: AEU86 AE86 - Another danish restoration]
Then I got hold of an extra gear lever...

[Image: AEU86 AE86 - Another danish restoration]
... And had it extended so that it will reach the gearbox.

[Image: AEU86 AE86 - Another danish restoration]
Here it is fitted on to the adaptor. Very simple job.

All fitted again. The gear stock travel is shorter and a bit more direct. As I wrote before I'm really looking forward to testing it on the road. If it isn't great I'll just revert to the old stick. Very simple.

Until next time. Keep on trucking.

Hi

Small update. Just did a simpel CO test. It landed in round 1,2 %, so that's well within the limit of 5,5% for the MOT.
