totta Crolla Wrote:The high idle when cold is perfectly normal.
950rpm when warm is perhaps a little high and the FSM suggests
+/- 50rpm @ 850rpm

i know when she's cold that the idle should be high but didnt saw the video from 2000+rpms eg shes going suddenly to 1200rpms and then back to 2000rpms....

don t you see the unstable idle at hot? and she s (pop pop pop...) from behind the exhaust.

dont you see on the afternoon video that the gas where is coming out of the exhaust is not stable?

Ok the cold start.
When you crank the engine you are also injecting some extra fuel from a separate cold start injector hence the initial jump in revs. once this extra fuel is burnt (to help start the engine) the main injectors take over.
Expect to see some instability in the idle until the engine is warm.
(just like your video tbh)

After reading your first post again and assuming the car was ok before the work was undertaken I would say that there is air in the cooling system and
this is causing a problem with the water temperature sensor.

Also you have a modified exhaust ?
Modified inlet ?
To get more air in and out of the engine ?
You have no Oxygen sensor, correct ?
The popping sound is probably because the engine is running lean at idle.
This can be corrected however.

Are you getting error codes from the ecu ?

my exhaust is modified is a stainless handmade and much more free than the stock one.
Inlet is modified to (BMC Carbon dynamic box)
No oxygen sensor correct
(if is lean at idle how can be corrected?)

a look at my exhaust system http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnKDAgCd4uY&feature=plcp

No the last 3 days no errors on the ecu....

Here are the details:
http://www.jmrhzu.btinternet.co.uk/Old_C...rt4p1.html

(you will need to find the actual adjuster screw
on your car though and if your car did not have an Oxygen sensor from the
factory it will have this adjuster BUT it may not look exactly the same as
the photo)

Concentrate on the cooling system. It is the usual suspect for unstable idle RPM. Have seen it many times on many different 4age equiped toyota's.

Make sure there is no air in the system, take special notice of the pipes to the inlet manifold/throttle body. Sometimes they get clogged, and it is easy to imagine some air being trapped in the system since you had coolant lines replaced right before the problem occured.
