ae92 to ae86

so this guy's parting out his 89 corolla gts. im tryina see if his parts will fit my sr5.

heres the thing his engine 4age was toast cuz he poured sealant where the oil goes. he gave me that for free but i threw it away.

another motor is in the ae92 but its half completed (4age) so rain water got inside the engine block & theres rust all over. So is it worth buying that and fixing?

also wat parts will fit my ae86 from the 89? from my understanding i know the engine, ecu, harness fit. But will the gas tank? booster? anythig else i need to get my gts convr?

I dont think anything else beside the engine , ecu ect will fit your AE86. Im about to do the same project, I have a AE92 that somebody stole from me and i recovered it but its totaled, and Im planning to do a swap for my AE86. I also believe that the intake from the 92 will not fit the 86.

The only thing worth bothering with is the engine. None of the interior/braking/suspension parts are worth adapting to fit. Converting a fwd to rwd isn't as simple as bolt it in and drive away though. The intake faces the firewall in RWD configuration, and the loom will be too short to reach some plugs. Also, the water hosing needs to be adapted as the original piping won't work. For a small port, you may also find that the fitting on the back of the head is too long, hits the firewall, so you'll need the fiting from a bigport engine as it's much flatter. Probably a few other things I've forgotten, but I've done this and it took a bit of stuffing around.

thought so. was just plannin on using the engine & wiring. the rest to the dumpster.....tho i hate to throw away such a clean ae92. has everythin & mint interior. Ima see if i can swap in the 4ace engine to it, tho i highly doubt its possible.
