With some filler and clever painting, they would loke a lot more like Equip 01's.

But I'd rather keep them this way: they are much rarer than the Equips! 1982 - TA60 Carina 4dr sedan - fun cruiser 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

Donut's video on the AE86 is amazingly loud as his usual videos, but I just discovered it's got my Trueno in it @6:30:

Dude, he used your car as an example of 'bottom of the Corolla line'. He's an asshole and I think you should complain.
I've seen a few of his videos and while they are obviously well produced, he comes across as being so fake that I just can't watch. |

TBH I don't really care what he calls it, for me it's still the top of the line Apex Twin Cam 16 spec.
And yeah I agree with you: he's really fake and everything is cut and pasted together to make it look good. On a more serious note: Apparently one of the previous owners bogged up some rust with silicone kit, covered it with tape/sealant and even the guy inspecting the car when importing it didn't notice two years ago. He inspected the wheel wells and under the seats... Naturally the car didn't pass APK (MOT) and this is going to be an expensive repair. 1982 - TA60 Carina 4dr sedan - fun cruiser 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

If that's the worst rust on your car then you still have a very nice vehicle and its worth spending the money. It actually looks like you've found the problem early enough to repair it.

They ALL go there Art, chin up, it doesnt look as bad as mine or Power_uP's here was.
Whatever you do, dont let just any garage do the repair as most are only capable of the shittyest MOT-welding which wont last long. That spot there can be fixed with a relatively flat repair piece as long as it hasnt gone too far, if you cant find anyone better I could help you with that. The rot should be cut out, all surrounding metal cleaned + treated, repair piece made and welded in, then treated with some epoxy paint. You can buy generic weld-in seatbelt anchor plates at many tuning shops for the correct thread and mounting plate strength. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

Thanks for all the consolidation!
Yes I was planning on getting it properly fixed as there is no other major rust on the car, so definitely worth doing that. 1982 - TA60 Carina 4dr sedan - fun cruiser 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

Today I made some preparations for repairs, so I stripped out the rear interior of the hachi. Unfortunately I found another hole...
On the positive side: the right side of the car only has two minor holes and not rusted alongside the section where two sheets of metal meet. I also found this postit note taped on the backside of the right rear interior panel: No clue what it says and Google Translate can't make much of it. But I bet it came from UpGarage and it reads something like "cheap apex twincam rear panel, no warranty or returns" 1982 - TA60 Carina 4dr sedan - fun cruiser 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |
