Zenki two door Trueno from Japan
Last week I made sure all four of the rims are equally shiny:
And delivered them to a local tireshop today to get some rubber. They expect them to be ready in two days. On Monday I received the lug nuts from Japan: It took only four days to arrive and the shipping wasn't that bad. The total including shipping was about the same as when I would have bought a set of nameless lug nuts here in NL. And I made another small change to the hachi: MCM ftw! On a sidenote: my previous hachi was an USDM model and did feature that "objects in this mirror are closer than they appear" disclaimer sticker. 1982 - TA60 Carina 4dr sedan - fun cruiser 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

Looking good, though not sure if it's just the picture or are the tires not properly bedded?

I mounted them on Monday shortly before our mini-meet:
Stupidly enough I forgot to take pics when Oldskull's and my Trueno were lined up. I'm not 100% sure if they will stay on the car: I like the look of them including the lip, but I'd wish they were 15 inch and had a slightly more favorable offset. I'll try to take the centercaps off next time I drive the hachi and make more photos and see if I like them more. If not they'll be mounted on the Carina instead. The tires already felt like a big improvement compared to the Nankang tires that came with the Trueno. 1982 - TA60 Carina 4dr sedan - fun cruiser 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

Must have been the picture then. It looked like the side of the tire wasn't properly against the side of the rim. Like when you fit bew tires but havent inflated them yet.

The weather is getting cold and I'm afraid the Dutch road maintainers will salt it like a herring. I took a photo of the hachi with the new wheels two weeks ago when I went to the office, showing them a bit more from the side: I must say they are growing on me, so they'll stay on the car. 1982 - TA60 Carina 4dr sedan - fun cruiser 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |
