VVt trigger on a silvertop.
I am just about to fit a 20valve silvertop, I am running a standalone ecu, what way do I trigger the vvti? I know it has a connector for it on the head above the exhaust manifold..

i think,12 volt and a massa(-) trigger from the ecu,just on and off i can check it on my blacktop tomorrow

just from memory..
- never enabled with water temp < 60C - enable at 4000 rpm could be off a bit, but its based on both the temp and the rpm. |

It has two wires from it from, I take it one is 12 volt supply and the other will activate when switched to ground. I can trigger from various things on the ECU, just wondering if there was any benefit from triggering early. Heard something about Honda V-tecs making more power with Vtec controllers and vtec switching early.

I tried switching +12 and ground onto the solenoid, nothing happens, is this correct?

VVt trigger on a silvertop.
Got it sorted, It does use a 12v trigger, it was just stuck, removed it from the head and cleaned it. It should also measure 13 ohms.
