Tyres to suit new 14" wheels on a daily
I recently got myself a nice set of 14 x 6.5 ET9 Watanabes and was hoping some of you guys might be able to provide tyre recommendations for daily street driven all year round use, please?

I've previously been running 15x8 ET0 Rota RBs with Toyo T1R Proxes in 195/50/R15 and these have felt good in the past and provided a substantial amount of grip all year round, but the idea behind going for a smaller rim is to provide a tiny bit more comfort by running a thicker profile tyre.

I was considering a 185 or 195/60/R14 tyre, but I can't see the T1 proxes available in this size, only the CF1s, are they as good as the T1Rs or would anyone suggest an alternative?

T1R is avaliable in 195 55 R14, that would me be my choice.

I run Dunlop SP sport blueresponse on my daily (little fwd mazda, not an 86), and am pretty happy with them so far. Decent grip, decent thread-wear, very quiet compared to T1R's and the like.
My previous tyres were uniroyal rainsport2's, I chewed through the fronts in one year.
Before that I've had good experiences with Bridgestone Turanza's in 14".. nice all round tyre.

FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC!

Thanks for the input guys. I might stick with the familiar Toyo's and go for a 55 profile as Uzelac has stated.

Ive been using Avon ZV3's in 185/60 for a couple of years now on my 14x7" wheels and Im pretty happy with them. They produce a lot more grip then you would expect due to relatively low threadwear rating. They do have pretty soft and wobly sidewalls though which I personally dont mind but you will most likely notice the difference after riding on 195/50 profile tires.
