Hmmmm stock TVIS (9.4 to 1) has cylinder pressure of about 179 when new. I believe the newer non TVIS engine has cylinder pressures approaching 190, when new. Finally... I know a few people with after market parts that have cyl pressures over 200... and a few of those suffer from pre-ignition(ping) The non TVIS engines were equipped with a knock sensor, the earlier ones were not.

Making an assumption, in an n/a 4AGE application... cylinder pressures under 200 should be manageable, over 200 will be much more difficult.

Why is the A/F so rich before it really comes on boost? Nice numbers and plots though..

The explanation that the dyno guy told me is that before the vvt is engaged the engine opens the injectors to protect the engine, but I can disengage the extra 2 injectors between 3.5 and 4.5, I think I can correct that issue

Ok another run from me this time with small port ITBs fitted no changes to the MAP.I also found the TVIS system was still working on the last run and doing a good job.

Quite encouraging it made 131.9 bhp @ 6950 rpm Torque is up at 99.69 ft Ibs @ the rear wheels

Shame it ran lean so we had to stop there

AFR is better mid range

Funny how you now have a mirrored torque curve. Torque seems down over most of the rpm range, as if you had (slightly) more area under the curve with the standard inlet.

Was it worth it?

A wheel to steer the front of the car
A pedal to steer the rear

Yes it looses quite a lot of power below 5000 rpm as it takes the air velocity time to build in the ITBs so not so good for a road car

But mine gets most use on track where I would never drop below 5k so a good benifit for me power is 131.9 bhp at only 6950rpm instead of 133bhp at 7650rpm so when the fueling issue is fixed I will make quite a bit more reving up to 8000rpm
