THE ONLY JAPANESE TRUENO FROM BELGIUM
Hi everybody, greetings from Belgium!
I'm a member of AE86GT forum and I live in Charleroi (Belgium, not Pennsylvania!)
I'm the crazy man who imported a Trueno 86 from Japan to Belgium!
I bought it on 15th February and I got my car in Antwerpen in May.

Actually, I'm working on my KOUKI and I'm waiting for my new Trunk lid (the former was more expensive to repair than buy a newest (from Japan again)

My car is being repaired in the garage of François DUVAL, the famous Belgian Rally driver and KOUKI (name of my 86) recently got his driving homologation for Europa.
Check up my photos :

May 20 : Receipt of the car in Antwerpen (a lot of customs to do)

September 12, deposit of the car in my mechanic for some minors improvements
September 23, opening of homologation inquiry, report sent to mobility. It October 20, I lead my 86 to the Duval garage to Cul-Des-Sarts
October 27, Homologation sheet received
Statement of the committed expenses:
Purchase and forwarding convey: 3798,47€
Taking out of customs: 1613,00€
Arranges in customs: 238,71€
Toyota data sheet: 50,00€
Basic repairs: 300,00€
New Tyres: 100,00€
Alternator: 138,00€
Radio: 100,00€
TOTAL: 6338,18€

I did a whole topic on http://ae86gt.forumactif.com/faq-f24/faq...-t1688.htm

To do the things easier :
Be passionate,
Planify Your buying and don't forget anything!! (ask other people's experiences, look at You country's customs, available parts in Your country, cost of the port of the car in Your country)

Ah Yes, Actually I didn't get any trouble since I so well planned my importation. (I planned in 2007 and waited a lower US$ in February 2008 (1,45US$/1€)
I don't know how much the customs are in Greece but It's up to You.

Welcome! Wave
Personally I would keep the longchamps! They look far more aggresive than the Wantanabes. Wink
