T50 Gearbox, Fragile !
Hello everyone,
I have a problem with my broken T50 gearbox.
I am not sure what to do or how to fix or convert in order to use my hachi again in track.
I have in mind the TRD discontinued gear sets. Are they have duty ? Do they worth the money ?
I know already about the conversion of IS200 gearboxes and S2000 as well.
What about mx5 gearboxes? Are they compatible, has anyone tried or converted it to fit the 4AG ?
Are there any other options/ sugestions?
What adaptors are there out for sale ?

There are adapters available for Ford gearboxes as well, those can be found in the UK where they are popular for use in kitcars and rallycars.
MX5 boxes would be a great idea since they are easy to find, but I'm not aware of anyone ever trying to fit one behind a 4age... Its a much better gearbox than the T50 I believe.
Supra gearboxes have also been done, but unless you can find the really rare OEM bellhousing that allows you to fit one it will require welding your own bellhousing.

I guess Ford is best way to go if you arent serious fabricator. Any box can be mated to any engine, but it needs serious work. But if you need it for race track, i doubt there are more options for any other car than Ford. So many RWD Fords in the past, and so many open wheelers based on Ford mechanics.

Where are you located? There are some options available:

3gse is200 gearbox-> sq engeneering or Leen

1G-FE is200 gearbox (eu spec) -> sq engeneering

Ford type 9 gerabox

Or one of the stronger t50 gearsert from trd, revolver you name it...

Toyota W5x gearbox is also a good option. I'm surprised no one mentioned it.

Supra gearboxes are strong but the gearing isn't the best. It's too long in my opinion.

And neither of these options is cheap, except you know how to make bellhousing/adapter.

The SQ enginerring kit seems awesome. Dunno if the gearbox will fit like a standard T50 gearbox.

Anyonw knows?

**IF** you can find one, the last gen LEEN also fits the S15 6 speed, as well as the Miata and RX8 6 speeds (99-05). It also fits the euro 1G IS200 transmission as well.

Problem is finding one. I, and a few friends are trying to buy the company, but as of now for us to have a go we'd need 10 units presold
