Yes, HTS long stroke and APEX spring with unknown spring rate (30-35mm lower and I guess around 2-2.5kg springs).

BEFORE you try all the others... get appropriate springs for your current set up! 4 springs will cost you ... what... 200 Euro... which you can sell if you don't like....

I haven't driven the 'ring...

RANT: all of you are assholes you know that... j/k Angel
taking my car to the 'ring is on my bucket list.

so getting back to the point...... get yourself a set of springs... in a 3 to 2 ratio from front to back. I prefer "soft" - Surreptitious rides on 5.3kg/mm front, 3.5kg/mm rear. To add response use a 25mm (1") front bar, and tune oversteer with a rear bar - begin with the stock rear bar. Remember you are going to have a lot more power now... so you don't have to run the rear as tight to still get rotation

btw here is the adjustment chart for the HTS... WARNING loosening over 7 1/2 turns can lead to the adjuster loosing contact with the internal adjuster and may damage the shock. I'm running about 4 turns in the front and 3 1/2 turns in the back

I have a set of Swift springs to fit original struts in 6/4 - problem is though they are way too short and leaving me with only about 1" of travel upfront and would therefore need massive helper springs to fit Sad

I was looking at these, and although I haven't bought them yet, I did
persuade a friend of mine to buy a set Smile

Theye are built in Korea to specifications developed by an ex Prodrive
suspension engineer, with the valving road tuned in Australia specifically
for the AE86. Springs rates are 6/4.5 and price AU$2000 from memory.

Sounds interesting, they seem new on the market but not new in the business. I like the fact that they are very open in the details how where and why the produce their parts. Sent an inquiry for more details. Let us know what your friends experience is.
One awkward thing though is the adjuster on the rear - looks horribly placed for our cars.

so that makes them inappropriate... Wave

The Korean built Aussie designed stuff looks pretty interesting... first kit I've seen with softer spring rates... Do they recommend reinforcing the rear shock mounts?

Here's some reading regarding the Aussie setup, http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums...Suspension
Need to sleep now and read it tomorrow.
The swift springs can be used but I would need to alter the strut casing which I'm not keen on as I don't have a spare set.

Shockworks said this when I was emailing them...
Quote: We have also changed the adjusters with the rear dampers so the
damping forces can be changed in the car at the top mount now.

The rear spring detail is the same as most other kits, with the spring in
the OEM location. So there is no reason to reinforce the shock mount.

If you are emailing Shockworks, be sure to mention you heard about the
AE86 suspension from John D in New Zealand Smile I know that Brett will
appreciate it that someone is spreading the Shockworks gospel !!

ahhh... I saw the red collar on the shocks and thought (incorrectly) that was an adjustable spring seat

Memory not as good as I thought... the rears are 4kg/mm. I have asked my
friend in Hawaii to provide his opinion of the susupension after driving on it
for a few weeks. When I hear back I will post his report here.

Thanks, I did quiet some reading this morning and this indeed looks like a very good product. At ~1200euro it's pretty smack in the middle. From what I've read they definitely should be better than BC BRs/HSDs/Greddy for similar price. As mentioned before the KW certainly would be nice but I'm not sure it's going to be twice as nice considering double the price.

I will let them know you sent me when I hear back from them. Hopefully tomorrow as haven't received a reply today.
