Springs from other vehicles??
Very interesting for TUV. Had contact with APEX some years ago and they told me that they didn' have a TUV for the AE86 springs. Never found springs with TUV for AE86. Fortunaly, oldtimers don't need GOCA (copy of TUV) anymore in Belgium (since 2103).

Ksport said they had TUV for their AE86 coilover kit but never see it

from my own experience the people working at APEX are utterly useless (simply no other way to describe it unfortunatelly). I contacted them several times back then, trying to find out the spring rates of the springs and no one was able to tell me.
Try a distributor regarding the TUV, if your lucky some distributors sell/give away the TUV certificate even if the product wasn't purchased through them.

I would imagine that was a certificate regarding manufacturing processes or similar.

I have also seen those k_sport coil overs where they claim to have a Gutachten, but 1250 euro is a bit over the top for my daily.

nah, was a proper certificate of conformity to suit the AE86, else I would never have been able to get it through the test. Unfortunately I didn't make a copy and the original is on file somewhere at the testcenter.

For Ksport and D2 Racing Coilovers the TUV certificate is only for your specific vehicle (that's why you have to tell them you VIN if you buy a set). It's some kind of greyzone they use for this afaik. Unfortunately I also don't have a certificate for the APEX springs and like demee76 said there are no springs with TUV certificate arround these days.

Maybe someone out there still has a copy for the APEX springs, guess we just have to wait and see.

Anyone know how much they (TÜV) charge to test a set of springs on a specific car where the springs don't have a Gutachten? I have heard that this is possible (also might be needed for my exhaust soon, as it seems I need an ABE / Gutachten for that as well).

@FanIsHere, sorry for hijacking your thread, hope the conversations turns back towards your original question soon.

No problem mate, I think I solved my problem.

How can you know if a set of springs are TÜV? Because I have an old set on my AE86, those I'd like to get rid off!
