Reinforcement for the AE86...
Go under the car and look around the gear box and driveshaft tunnel - you can add 1-2 braces nere (under the driveshaft) to reinforce the tunnel area near the gear box.
Another option is to fill all cavities with PU foam (but choose the foam carefully - the heavy and more densier will work better).

Most of the interior bars can be implemented in a roll cage....you just have to keep that in mind while designing your cage.

well it looks like you can add braces everywhere, put that lot on and get a 2000kg car. I wonder how many actually do anything worthwhile and arn't just for show ?

Jon you are kinda right, and kinda wrong.
If u use aluminum or carbon to make all these,
the car won't be much heavier.
But why bother to use all these shit,
since u can just use a cage and one tri-bar front
and one in tri-bar in the back?

well if you want to keep the interiour, you can implememt the bars in there, but with a cage you have to strip it.....

I also think a lot of these braces are bullshit, but some do have their purpose. The panhard rod reinfcement looks like it might be a good thing to reduce stress and flex, but only for a drifting car. Most of the rear strut towers probably do very little to improve stiffness (especially in coupe's). There is only a lot of stress on those points when you use coilovers in the rear.
