Switzerland and Sweden had MAF only for sure, in Germany I think the early ones were MAP and only later due to emissions law they got the MAF version

I'm not really sure about the Germany receiving both the MAF and MAP 4A-GE, but they did indeed get two versions: one leaded (gobbling up Super Benzin) and one unleaded variant with a catalytic converter:

In Japan they also put the catalytic converter on their ordinary unleaded 4A-GE's and still put a MAP sensor on top of that.

TBH: I think the leaded variant was perfectly capable of running unleaded.
