If you're ever out in this part of the world, I'd gladly trade a drive of my AE86 for some photos taken by yourself Wave

Now THAT's noted. Tongue Tokyo is really very high on the list of places to visit as well... Wink And thank you for the compliments, very appreciated.

Bean Bandit, you have PM Cool

Thanks for the kind comments, dudes! It's a pleasure to see so many people appreciate it. I was kinda expecting some negative comments, but so far zero....! Confused Respect!

I've not got any decent video clips of it shot in the last year... I'll have to get around to making some, I guess. For your entertainment - here's some that may have been seen before anyways:

We were commissioned by 5th Gear for a weekend as fixers - making filming arrangements & teaching them a bit about Tokyo & Japan. Unfortunately they wouldn't interview me directly, as Newera was being paid to work for them and that would be free advertising (Against broadcasting rules apparently - They even blanked out the http://www.neweraparts.com as I passed by in the video!). After being inspired by the orange car's burnout, I gatecrashed the party a little. Tom Ford's quite a funny bloke.

Here’s an old clip where it was chasing a 450 bhp R34 GT-R on a mostly long sweeper road. http://jstylecars.com/?p=91

The GT-R's and their turbo lag couldn't keep up in traffic, lol:

Another old video clip: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/16ab1...f8aa6f.htm

I'll try to shoot it on the circuit next time. Keep meaning to video a late night drive through Tokyo, but haven't got around to it. Maybe soon.

I think it sounds best from outside the car - hearing a friend driving it (Hard) towards where we waited in Fuji's forested roads sounded so sweet it brought little tears of joy to my eyes, lol.

By the way, what are the advantages in two breather on the camcovers?

Thanx

Sorry for taking over half a year to reply to this dude, lol.

OK, it has a breather coming from each cam cover, as this is a high reving engine and I figured it would be better to have 2 tubes, to allow pressure to escape more easily. I used 2 left covers, but apparently the AE92 engine has the filelr cap on the other side? I dunno...Too late for me, in any case as I've painted it all, etc.

There's an oil catch tank of course. The air then goes out (You can see the braided tube in the pic with the front bumper removed before I re-assembled it from the respray). This goes into a 1.5 litre coke bottle, filled with bits of old car washing sponge (Hidden behind the bumper). The sponge absorbs any remaining moisture (Mostly water with a bit of oil mist collects over time) and stops it spewing out as the air escapes. This means there's no mess under the car, nor oil mist collecting in the engine bay - as it escapes from the catch can. Bottle can come out, squeezed to empty the residue out from time to time and is re-secured with a couple of cable ties Smile I guess it could be done with just the coke bottle, but the catch can also looks pretty. Oh, and I switched from plastic hoses to braided as the plastic ones turned yellow pretty quickly and the unions leaked a tiny bit. And Aero fittings looked cooler too Wink. Note the Aero fittings aren't secured with anything above the engine. I figure the engine moves on it's mountings and they stay as secured by themselves anyways.

There's also a large alloy under tray (Thin) which helps stop dust and stuff from the road getting into the engine bay - Helps keep the throttle from sucking in dirt that way. I did try fitting all sorts of filters, but even coarse gauze mesh would kill off some of the top end power (And filters would muffle the intake roar). So it shall always just breathe freely with mid sized trumpets

Thanks again for the kind words, guys Smile

Rasterinho, I speak Portuguese & Spanish too - so yeah, let's play with the AE86 if you make it here. We're based near Tokyo's Disney Land.

electric mic - The colour code on the chassis plate says 2X1. I know the silver's code is not available any more, so the paint shop found a very near match. I need to get a couple of touch up pots from there sometime - so when I do, I'll ask them the colour codes Thumbs up!
