also wondering about rims?
whats a good size rim for the car, and if it makes any preformance difference,
i was looking at 17" rims but now i think they might be a little big,
thinking i should stick to 16" or 15"

any preference?

(I dont know much about the ae86 by the way) lol
or any car really for that matter

Bigger than 15 inch is only possible by modifying the fenders, so either "roll" them or add fender-flares.
