New AE86 RUMOR! (FT-86 concept)
Yeah.. nice. Although i think it still looks abit too fresh, too newbie. I hope they include some history, pedigree, some class into the final version, like mazda've done with miata. No need to go copy the shape of the old car, as ae86 was nothing special design wise compared to NA miata; but just something to round it up and capture the spirit of the old car.

I opened this to write a post, that if the new hachi is going to be 1300+kg I will go immediately and buy the first E36 328. Then I saw these pictures... ! Even as a prototype, this is something, that is making me want to have every detail of it. Respect!
And only if it has the hachi sound like in the movie... *dream

It has been one hectic day... Read many many posts about this concept and saw, indeed as Cannabolic posted, that it is already in Gran Turismo 5!
Already wrote two blog postings about it... Let's hope Toyota doesn't have more tricks up their sleeves... Tongue

Lets see what will go on production.

Lets see the final specs and weight.

Lets see if the ESP-off button will be available.
First: dunno, but won't be as nice as this concept I guess...
Second: specs will probably remain the same, weight is still a big guess...
Third: available... Both ABS and TCS! Wink

New AE86 RUMOR! (FT-86 concept)
Hachiroku is terug: Toyota FT-86 Concept

Translation (bablefish)
Hachiroku is back: Toyota FT-86 Concept

Friend, enemy and also Toyota president Akio Toyoda are it concerning once there: Toyota can, however, what more tension in the model range to use. Toyota FH-86 concept is the first voorbode of it. Of course the entrant has been inspired on the legendary Corolla haircut AE86 from the years eighty. The recipe is also the same: the weight must remain low, traction occurs on the rear wheels and the handling must be nice. FT-86 the concept has been devised by Toyota ED2 styling studio in France and shows quite what resemblances with FT-HS the concept which was shown almost 3 years suffered on the car show of Detroit. That however an hybrid supercar was, whereas FT-86 the relatively payable sportautootje must become. Traction 2.0 litres large boxermotor originating from Subaru ensures which has been placed far low and to behind in coachwork. Further details are there not yet except that FT-86 the next month on the car show of Tokyo will be shown. In the middle of 2011 FT-86 in production must go with an American richtprijs of more than $ 20,000.

It will obviously have ABS and TCS. Its the rules. The question is if there will be a button to turn them OFF...
