How is it possible that you have to fix your starter that often? That part doesnt even look like it's supposed to wear with use.
The only thing I ever had fixed on my starter were the bearings and it works perfectly..(it's not the same type though, mine has no reduction). FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

This is the first time I ever fixed the starter... And you are right - it is proberply not necessary changing more than the two little thingies But they will ware out eventually. As you see one of them has a deep grove which is why it isn't always working:

I'm not sure yet, Kristian, but I guess €6500-8000, depending on which engine I choose, wouldn't be way off...

As far as I know the only parts that normally wear in a starter are the bearings and carbon brushes. Maybe your bearings are worn out causing other stuff to wear out as well?

Small update: Car is now ready to be sanded down some time next week. Removed the entire wiring and sounddamping on the inside of the car... Heres a few pics:
Trouble areas: And a pic before droping of the car: This is quite nerve wrecking since I don't know how much will be left afterwards I'll keep you posted BTW am I the only one who keep finding more and more rust every time I look the car over?!?
