Awesome car, I always had a thing for these beaten up drift cars. Thumbs up! Hope you'll stick to the Trueno front, looks great just the way it is right now.

Shes ALIVE!!!

Started the engine today - and one thing that i NOTICED instantly - RPM's on the idle - 3500-3900 always Jumping Big Grin Hmm... Either this means trouble - or means i have som stupidly agresive cams???

Its hard to hear anything - cuz the cars was running in huge hangar - so echo was all around + phone camera... But idle is crazy high Big Grin

Another thing - my bodywork guy - did the hood for me Smile Did it perfectly, all the metal edges are rolled, the the opening is in exact place as i wanted Smile Will be good for my V-mount setup Smile

Hood looks great! Smile
Most idle problems with too high (jumping) idle can be traced back to coolant problems: either you don't have coolant in the radiator or your lines are clogged up.

Thanks for advice! Will check tomorow - but it seems that after radiator removal - coolant was refiled in it... so hmmm... anyway - will have to check to be 100% sure Smile

Also remember that all 4AGE's run at high idle rpm while they are cold.

Finally - manage to write up update in English too Big Grin (lol project write up has been going on one local Lithuanian site in my Lith language - and i could not force my self to write everything in english Big Grin)

Well - everything moved A LOT in front these past days - and there is A LOT done to the car / engine Smile

here goes:

[Image: AEU86 AE86 - My Drift project - 83' Trueno coupe]

First test drive Big Grin RHD + me beeing 197cm / 105kg + japanese guy beeing smaller then me = extrem driving Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin I could barly fit in it Big Grin lol

Oh well - as im totaly F/I guy - and i always said that N/A is expensive way to go slow - this aint give me any good impresions Big Grin Big Grin I drove few Hachis before - and this one was fastest of all - but still - im not going to leave it N/A Big Grin You can hear in this video the jumping RPM's that i had...

Atleast few things that i was worried where ok - Gearbox + Diff Big Grin These are for sale if anyone need a good solid gearbox - and TRD rear diff + LSD Smile

Well - the next day (as i left my Hachi at my friends garage - cuz my workshop is a bit busy as ussual Big Grin) my friend aint had much to do - so he started to take the engine out Big Grin As my friend is RB26 guy - 4AGE compared to RB26 was piece of cake Big Grin In 1 hour - he managed to have engine on the ground Big Grin I was a bit shocked - cuz he was working alone Big Grin

[Image: AEU86 AE86 - My Drift project - 83' Trueno coupe]

We took all the wiring out, and started to rip the motor into parts to see whats inside Big Grin

Going upside down - and lets see what we got here...

[Image: AEU86 AE86 - My Drift project - 83' Trueno coupe]

And here goes nothing... 1-2 rods bearings - almost ALMOST dead... well - basicly the problem was in the oilpump / oi pressure - and THANKS god i aint too the car for another test drive - cuz i would now need a new crank...

Works done Big Grin
To take everything apart it took us around 1.30hour working Big Grin we did this with my friend - so it was kinda fast Big Grin

[Image: AEU86 AE86 - My Drift project - 83' Trueno coupe]

Took all the parts to my friend into machine shop - and we will see how it goes Smile

After few days - got a call from Machine shop with some good news - that everything is still fit into Standart norms - and can be used without any problems Smile this means Standart bearings on the crank, block just need some honing - and we will be done Smile

While in a garage - we started on LHD conversion Big Grin As far as i will not be using any header core, neither stock pedals - conversion will be SUPER EASY Big Grin Actually - after looking and the firewalls - and seeing that they are almost identical - we just took one part from LHD firewall - and used it Big Grin

Not much pictures from the process - cuz i forgot to take some Big Grin

While resting in between the jobs - and took a good look around in my friends garage - and had a thought about maybe i should put one of these inside? Big Grin

[Image: AEU86 AE86 - My Drift project - 83' Trueno coupe]

Oh - and here is why i can not work in my own garage Big Grin

[Image: AEU86 AE86 - My Drift project - 83' Trueno coupe]

Thanks god both of these are gone to the customers right now Big Grin And finally my garage is clean Big Grin
