What size are the rims? I'm guessing close to 15x9?

A wheel to steer the front of the car
A pedal to steer the rear

My AE86 with deep dishes!
Arv Thanx for the nice comments on my AE86  The size is 17X8,5 front with ET 13 and 205/40-17" tyres, and 17X10" rear with ET20 and 225/35-17" tyres (should be 235 in width).
No spacers in front, but too much turning when reversing will provoke the front rims to rub against the suspension.
Im using 5mm spacers in the rear, but due to the worn cusions, the rear rims sometimes hit the inner carcasse.
To solve that problem i will use 10mm spacers in the rear, and 5mm spacers in the front. Then another problem comes along, the bolts are to short. I´ll change the bolts to the ones from a Toyota landcruiser, and I should be ready to go.

The sad news is that my AE86 is in very bad condition underneath, and requires a hell of a make over. So I know what to do this fall/winter/spring. Evil

But thanx again for the great comments, the AE86 is a wonderfull car, no doubt about it. And a surprisingly fast car, compared to newer cars. Cool

Hi Carsten. Your AE86 is beautiful (black is the best colour). Where are you located? I'd love to see some more pics from other angles and inside etc.

I don't mean to piss on your fireworks, but 17's really don't belong on an AE86. The 4AGE has no torque to start with, let alone having to torn those huge lumps of alloy as well!

When/if you start really driving the car hard (what the 86 is all about) you are going to have major handling and rubbing issues. You won't be able to run a low ride height or long steering lock either.

It sounds like your going to a lot of effort and expense to get these wheels to work... maybe that would be better spent sorting out the underbody rust issues first?

It's not up to me what you do with your car so feel free to tell me to piss off, it's just a heads-up really. I still think your car looks great, but some lightweight, deep-dish, old school 15's would look even better IMO.

I expect you know all this anyway and are doing your 86 for aesthetics not driving? Certainly is pretty unique, very few 86's on 17's round the world...

Great looking car, very clean.
I'm not one for newfangled wheels bigger than 15" on AE86's as well, but I do think these look nice. A lot of danish hachi drivers seem to run modern high offset wheels. At least yours have some serious dish, which I am a great fan of.

FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC!
