More positive gear change
Hello,

I just done a quick look into short shift kits for my 86 as I'm Craving a more positive gear change with less travel (mine isn't too bad but my Daily has a short shift kit!) and I could only find the Ridiculous £130 TRD Kit. I don't have the money to spend £130 on a short shift kit and was wondering what cheaper options are around, what your using and what you think of it.

Cheers.

Techno toy tuning does them as well, but it´s not much cheaper.

Or you go for diy...

I was really hoping for a cheap fix, wish I had the tools to go DIY!

Anyone used the Cusco collar shift or heard anything about them?

On a 2nd thought, do you have loads of slack?
This would just be the shifter bushing, the oem plastic ain´t that strong, especially after 25 years.

You can get them uprated from Techno toy tuning for under 10quid and they make loads of difference.
The Cusco does the same and ist made from brass, that´s why it costs 25 quid.

Yer thats my problem, I can put it into gear and it still has a load of slack its not bad its just a bit annoying!

Would it be possible to send a link? I'm defiantly interested in doing this myself, is it a relatively simple job?

Cheers!

I made the shifter bushings myself on my lathe. Simple job and a big difference. Thumbs up!

The really important bit is the small bushing in the middle, chaning these bushings is very easy and takes maybe an hour?

A while ago you could just buy the small bushing without the rest for 12USD iirc.

A new plastic bit from Toyota?
It'll last another 20+ years!

So what!

It is just as expensive as the T3 one...
