JDM Bumper Brackets
What are the bolt sizes for the brackets, where it bolts to the car itself?
The USDM bolts are too big for the bolt holes on the JDM brackets. I measured them, and they appear to be 7/16's, but not sure of thread count etc. Or even if they're actually metric. |

AFAIK all bolts on toyota's are metric.. dont quote me on that one though. Only you US guys and the english use inch-metric sizes.

Yeah, they are metric, and we got the correct sized bolt, but the thread count is wrong. They thread in a couple millimeters, then just stop. So now just to get a tap and die set from my dad and figure out the thread count / pitch.

Figured it out. Bolt holes on the JDM brackets are 12mm with thread pitch / count of 1.25.
And of course, 12mm x 1.25 bolts were THE most impossible bolts to find. One place had plenty of 12mm x 1.75, none of the other two thread counts. Other places didn't even have them. After driving all over God's creation, finally found 4. So, rear bumper is on finally. |
