It's just one of those days..
Today I was at work, had a pretty good morning when my boss comes by.. Had to come and have a chat.. So there I go..after 2 months of pretty hard working (but enjoyable) I just got sacked. No notice, no clues no nothing..just pack up your things and go cause I didnt fit the profile well enough.
This was the day after I signed a contract for a room in the city I work in
after I gathered enough confidence in my future prospects at that company

Anyhow, later today my agent at the "detaching" (dunno the correct word) agency got me an interview accross the street from my former job. Now I got myself a deskjob for a few months...actually pays better than the last job, just less entertaining.

Just goes to show how ruthless businesses can be these days..
Almost lost 700 euro's to cancel my contract and my complete income.

At a more positive note: my 4age is purring like a kitten again after all my problems following the oil spill this week.

Correction...the same afternoon!
But I'm still a bit confused about this whole business...one minute I'm doing a job that was going pretty well in my opinion, the next moment I'm sacked and having an interview at another company.
This next job is just for a few months so I'll have to go looking for something different soon.

Bizarre... Reminds me of finding a new job last time. I was hired the same day as I got the interview...

What kind of job are you doing? Confused

Now I'll be gathering data on leadfree component alternatives and putting them into a database. Not a very appealing job, but at least it keeps me from going poor.

i'm lucky that i've found me another job too. Past year i've been working in a dutch cakefactory, and now i'm going to a work at an printing company. First a 1 year contract, and after that the possibillity for a 'indefinite time' contract and getting paid for going to school (1 day a week) Big Grin

Nice to hear you found a new job Thomas...
As for myself I'm just a bit bummed about not succeeding in this job that I liked, and not seeing this coming. I'm moving to Eindhoven next monday and starting my new job tuesday so not to much time to sit around and feel sorry for myself.

That sucks man!! sorry to hear that man. Can I ask, what was the job that you were doing?

Is there any chance of getting some extra cash off them for unlawfull dismisal? or some other eployment law ???

Any way man Im real sorry to hear the bad news! But hey theres always a silver lining..you have another job to get good at and draw experence from, even if its only for a few months. Cool

Well, in Holland we have a lot of protection against getting sacked, but that is only if you already have a contract. I'd guess Ivan141 was still in his trial period and then you can get sacked whenever they like to. Undecided

Banpei,

No not a contract problem. There is a group of workers in Holland that can get sacked on a moments notice and that is people working for a job agency.
