You might as well buy a real oil pressure gauge.

Knudsen Wrote:I hope im not being an ass, but thats the wrong way to wrap the treadtape... When you screw the fitting into the block, the tape will actually come off and then the joint isnt liquidproof. Its ment to go the other way around

Great idea though Thumbs up!

hahaha Respect! I know that - i have not attached this to the car yet though.

But taped on very well. The tape stays on in any direction mounted. Cool

this IS a real oilpreassure sender Aico.

Will work to 100% just as well as an expensive race-model Wave

Yeah warning lights are much better than gauges when your actually driving the car hard, using this method you could wire in a warning buzzer, which are also a good addition

Gauge as in gauge..not just a sender. Besides the sender seems to be a pressure switch, not a real sender. You can get cheap gauges for like 30E.

How-to - oilpreassure light !
If I remember correctly, the 4AGE has a second thread for oil pressure switch just besides the oil pressure sender.

in my car I have installed a Racimex oil pressure gauge with Racimex sender, and this sender has a second connection for oil pressure warning light.

But other question: what is the range of the standart AE86 oil pressure gauge? I have about 4-5bars at idle, while the standart gauge goes all the way up... ?? btw I shimmed my oil pump for higher oil pressure...

Well PetzK, it's supposed to be at aroud 3/4 of full scale normally so a shimmed oil pump might make it go all the way up..
Do you have some info on how to shim an oil pump?

@ Aico: do you realise that 4age equipped ae86's already have an oil pressure gauge, why buy another one? You'll never be able to keep track of a gauge during hard driving anyway so it's no big improvement over the stock gauge.

Why cannot be used the wire of the original gauge to send some voltage to a bulb or to a relay? Huh
I also want some mod to have az oil pressure warning light because it's simply not good so.
