Ah, I didn't know the tercel has a 4A block. Wink
According to bill sherwood the 4AC has the same clutch as the 4AG:

And then your tercel isn't the "old" fwd tercel, but the 4wd corolla which was sold as tercel 4wd. Wink

I don't know as what It's been sold elsewhere, but in Finland It's a Tercel, It has a gearbox from which you can choose to drive FWD or 4WD, and a slow 1st gear for rough places, it's a perfect hunting-car... I'll take the old engine out tomorrow and check out how the clucth fits...

Well I took the 4A out of the Tercel tonight, and notest that the clucth fits fine, but the oilpan needs to be changed because the front driveshafts are right under the engine, and so the oilpan is really a really small one... Tomorrow I'll start planning of how get the new one in and running properly...

I woulnd't build a 4wd hachi, but if you will, I bet the Tercels front suspension would also be the easiest one to convert to a hachi...

4WD transmission is weaker than AE86 one.

Yes our Tercel is exactly that model, looks a little different in Finland thou... And yes the 4WD transmission is weaker, but it will hold up for a small test drive with the 4A-GE... Just found out that I'll have to use the Tercels engine mounts, so the GT's alternatormount won't fit, but I guess I'll just use Tercel's, will have to use it's pulleys too thou... A bit more extra work, but it doesn't help to stop and cry about it...

Ain't this funny, I had the 4age in a bench in which I was building it, I changed all the reguired parts, engine mounts, oilpan, a few waterpipes etc... So I had all the other parts changed but the clutch plate and assembly because the bench was blocking them, so I lift the engine up with a whinch on the roof so I can install the clucth and assembly, pretty soon I found out that Tercel's assembly has 6 bolts and GT's 8!! GT's assembly is a lot bigger so it won't fit in Tercels gearbox, and I can't use the Tercels Banging head Counting in the time I used to dig the Tercel out of the snow and disassembling it's engine, I've done 2 days of work for nothing, and I still have to change all the parts back and start thinking how to get the engine running... Crying  Angry

EDIT: Mixed up the words, I was talking about the flywheel ofcourse...
