GT86 5000 Mile Review
Okay, news just in, I'm going to have the TEIN Flex coilovers installed next week with the TEIN EDFC Active Pro system at RRG Macc' (my Toyota dealer!) next week.

Then it's off to Fensport on Thursday to meet up with Yukiko from TEIN for all the setup and programming of the system to my requirements.

I'm going to be running a 5kg front and 6kg rear spring rate. This is a little interesting as I will be the third to have this system fitted and the other two, will be running 6kg front and rear. The 5kg springs for the front have just arrived in via air freight from Japan, so all this will be shipped to RRG Macc for fitting on Monday-Tuesday. All supplied via Fensport. Smile

I am just a little excited and it means that I can get it all sorted before the first round of the TSS which I admit, I still need to get booked! Smile

My dealer (RRG Macclesfield) will finish all the electronic stuff with the controls for the suspension tomorrow in time for me to pick up tomorrow night and then head off to Fensport on Thursday morning.

I will be meeting up with the manager for Tein UK to do the programming. She knows her stuff, can't wait now! Smile

Well, I've got it on now and yesterday I spent a day down at Fensport having my geo corrected from how the dealer set it up which was a bit out.

I met up with Yukiko again who is the manager from Tein UK and we went through a setup where I changed speed parameter settings and picked a preset G-force setup. It's looking good for a factory tour of Tein when we go to Japan in the summer.

I just love how enthusiastic everyone is to get this working well for the car. I have two other friends who now have it as well and we'll all be sharing settings with each other which will aid development.

I did a bit of tweaking along the M6. I have to say I'm really impressed with how it functions. You can be cruising down an A road with a comfortable ride, then boot it and chuck it into a corner and it stiffens up making the outside dampers stiffer for lateral G, come out of the bend and straighten up and it goes back to a softer setting. The same logic applies to acceleration and braking. All very clever. I noticed today that slackening off the rear compared to the front makes a big difference to ride quality.

for 90% of the time I reckon it rides a lot smoother than standard. A really bumpy road will catch it out, but that's no different than stock really. It also comes into it's own when pushing on giving much better damper control. I can't wait to try some track setups. Smile

Yukiko manager for Tein UK inspects the installation and notices the absence of collars on the bottom of the rear dampers. She runs to her car gets them and Dave has them on within ten minutes!
