Fourth Stage Episodes 7+8
I'll try em out some time in the future...I'll wait for the good ol regular subbed initial d episodes for now.
BTW, any of you guys have any experience in converting divx anime episodes into dvd's? A friend of mine always gets dvd's with a LOT of episodes on them, made by a friend of his in the fansub scene. I'm trying to get the Berserk series onto 2 or 3 dvd's (25 20min episodes) but they come out huge using TMPEGenc in it's lowest setting. If someone can help mne out on that please PM me, no need to go offtopic any further..

Ivan,

It's all about resolution. If you stick to the standard resolution for DVD you are never going to get the mpegs size down. But if you MPEG2 encode it on a lower resolution a DVD player should be able to play it. The only problem is that so far the DVD burner tools only allow you to burn mpegs in stock resolution. Super VCD resolution is on a higher bit stream is perfect, there aren't many TVs that can show higher anyways.

So if I encoded it to svcd I could use that to make a dvd? Ie, it would work on dvd without further encoding?

Ivan,

Yups, VCD, SVCD and DVD all use MPEG2 encoding (although I think VCD may be MPEG1, not sure). Only SVCD is 2ce the res of VCD and DVD is 4x the res of SVCD and the bitrate is higher so the quality is better.

Also DVD has support for more sound channels and subtitling while (S)VCD is stereo + no subtitling (subtitles are encoded into the video).

Last but not least the menu system of DVD is more advanced then SVCD, although its all still the same basic setup.

But in the end the DVD decoder can play any MPEG2 stream. You only need to find DVD authoring software that leaves your MPEG2 stream in tact and then create some nice menus that startup your video.

I've only found some good text based menu editors that create a DVD image you can then burn with nero. But I dont like that to much. I'm now experimenting with some other software from Adobe but haven't had the time to really try it out.

I have software to author dvd's...no problem. Just needed to know how to encode them to small files.

I aint saw the last 7 and 8 eps.
I really loved that "layout", well subded on the image and the image quality is very good!

Anyone knows another subded versions?
