Forged rods for 4AGE 20v options
Its an NA application, with a bit more HP, I have seen the Brian Crower ones, they seem reasonably priced and are a bit lighter than stock, other options? I know Carrillo do them, but are insanely expensive, Pauter do as well, but are about the same weight as stock.

Sarcasm? Insane RPM? If not, then you do not need anything aftermarket.

So what!

Ummm 10mm lift 288 Kelford cams, 1mm OS intake and exhaust valves and Supertech springs, 81.25mm custom 12:1 forged narrow skirt CP pistons, Toda cam gears (intake and exhaust), etc etc

I want a light motor to spin freely, so yes I need aftermarket, can save 400 grams going to forged rods.

Not sure if you have ever seen these. I remember spool conrod's somewhere but bugger if i can remember where.

Also if you have an engine like that then you know about the kilo's that can be saved in the flywheel and balancer.

Too my knowledge blacktop flywheel and balancer are the lightest of factory options although they are by no means the lightest available.

Many flywheel makers have them at around 3.9-4.1kgs v's blacktops 5.9kgs. Small port 7.1kg and bigports 7.9kgs i believe.

Balancer's i wouldn't know but ive seen alloy pulley kits that im sure would be lighter then the stock Toyota options.

Im also lead to believe that a balancer that is too light could harm the harmonics of the crank. I think the balances soul purpose is that stop/suppress the vibration cause by each combustion stoke.

Dont forget too that removing weight means less momentum to climb hills. Im mean sure it will free rev very well but wont climb in revs very well up hills.

Interesting I see Toda do a 3.7kg version. I do wonder, can the 200mm flywheel and then a 200mm clutch fit the 20v (which is 212mm stock?) There is a 200mm Toda one come up cheap locally...

yes any combination works i believe, its only the supercharged version 4agze that doesn't work, its alot bigger then the other 2, about 243mm or something around that mark.

The 200mm (bigport) and 212mm (small port and 20v's) are the same outside dimension flywheels its only the clutch cover and plate that differs, many go for the 212mm simply for the extra clutch surface area and potential extra clamping force.

Just make sure you order a clutch to suit the right size flywheel, not 100% sure if its possible to mix and match between the 200mm and 212mm.
