BTW: I'm on the verge of buying a 2T series T50 including propshaft and stuff, so if I buy it I won't have an excuse of not doing anything structural with the Carina.

keep in mind you need the rearshift T50 eh? otherwise you'll end up with the gearstick in the wrong place!
