Alu thick core radiator fitment
Hi guys,

A few years ago 2014 Wink I bought a thick core ae86 radiator here via the forum;
it looks at least excactly like a Mishimoto one.
After all those year, stored, I finaly want to install it
Height and width look OK but, it is not a direct fit.
As it seems, I need to extend the lower mounting points by 45-50mm due the thicker core. Is that a general issue with thicker core rads? or my bad luck?
iff the botem would be 45-50 mm more inward, it would be a perfect fit, when I want to use the lower original mounts, i need to start cutting, and the rad would be tipped over to the back a bit.

It looks a lot like this one:

What happens when you put the bottom pins in first? Where does it interfere with the body?

Looks like it yes.

it interferes as in the third picture, on the sides of the front frame left and right, and will interfere almost all the height.

Best thing to do would be to find someone handy with a TIG welder in that case.. better to change the radiator than the chassis (with parts compatibility in mind).
If you read the comments on this youtube ad I found you'll see you're not the first one to run into problems with this radiator model:

I actually cutted the fins myself too Smile before seing the vid. did not wannted to modify the front of the car, it is now a tight, but is a fit! will most likely go for a spal fan.

-no worries about the rusty top brackets, they are black again allready-

anny experience on size do/dont tips? just want to replace it by a spal fan for the space claim, and bit better looks. =)
