Altezza 3S-GE into an AE86
Michel, try the following conversion:
Rover V8 (all aluminium V8, lighter than a 4A-GE)- 200E @your local scrapyard or 3500 GBP for a full NA tuned race version (the engine from the topgear NoLimits video (well ok, clarkson video)

Its the same difficulty with swapping it in, its lighter than a 3S-GE and has lots of power potential...1000bhp and upwards..

A wheel to steer the front of the car
A pedal to steer the rear

Yep. All the processing that goes with this swap means a lot of work. A big lump that, but I belive it's worth it if You know Your way around a workshop and have a few helping hands.
I've heard that conversion kits can be found on the used parts market, but that would probably take some cash and hard looking to localize and get.
All of them consisting of used, home maid stuff probably, just like this one.

Nice and light as a Rover V8 may be, I wouldn't trade the highly tuned 4 cylinder charactere in a hachi for anything else. Me, I want 8.000 rpm and beyond. I want to get as close to an 80's Group A Corolla as I can without loosing too much street value.
So. All motor four pots around 2 liters, no respiratory aids please.

If You ask me, buying a cut off front end from a Honda S2000 would be the ultimate investment for a swap. A 210 bhp Altezza motor ranks a very close second. If it's heavy there's lots of sheet metal in the front end just begging to be replaced anyway.

Well... If I aim for the moon, I might hit the tree tops at least.
Now, were was that completely rust free and unwelded hatchback for sale again ...?

3sge he put in his hachi is BEAMS version. It's special 210hp version used in japanese Forumula 3.
More about BEAMS

Bill used the beams engine with the auto (tiptronic) gearbox which is "only" rated at 200 hp.
The 6 speed is rated at 210 hp.

Hi guys, thanks for the kind words.
The car drives okay, but there's still a few little problems that have to be fixed before I'm totally happy with it.
One of the things is BIG BRAKES for the front, as it's only got stock fronts and no booster, so it's very hard to stop right now.

Bill, I live in a small town outside of Amsterdam about 15 minute drive from Schiphol airport. Banpei lives in Amsterdam itself, Robokill lives close to Amsterdam aswell and some other guys are at acceptable driving distances to our capitalSmile

So let us know when you are around and have some time, would be fun to meet up and we dont mind showing you aroundSmile
