Actually, I have a friend that works for Daimler/Chrysler. And he says that the worst country in the world with regards to rust, is Dubai!!! Go figure, because of the wind, the sand and the salt waterspray from the ocean, makes a horrible impact on sheetmetal. Cars from dubai, rust like no other place in the world.

Yup, and excessivly much because we invented zoab and Rijkswaterstaat denies any problem regarding zoab. So to solve that problem the put even more salt on the roads. Angry

I HATE the damn salt... Why won't they just let people learn to drive instead? hate it.

They do not salt up in northern sweden, the cars are often in excellent condition even though they're driven all the year around and half the year in snow.
Salt killes... Sad Angry Crying Dumb question

Most people in Holland can't drive. That's also why ABS came as a standard 'option'. Now it's even illegal to sell new cars without ABS.

Here most people see a car as just a way to get from A to B. They don't care about drivingskills, but they do think their driving is perfect. These few days it's started to rain........guess what crash, crash and crash. Accidents all over the place and it ain't even snowing or freezing yet.

I have seen many cars wrapped around poles and all kinds of stuff just after it started raining 10 days ago. Some people cant adjust fast enough I think. Then when everyone has adjusted, they all drive like senior citizens..
Someone in the carrepair business once said that they get more work when it rains after a sunny period than when it snows. Road conditions after a long dry period get very slippery when all the filth on the roads dissolves in the rain. You cant see this however, so it's easy to get surprised by slippery roads.

I've had some near misses myself in the snow..without proper wintertires or chains it is sometimes impossible to keep the car controlled on snowy roads. We always drive on summer tires all year long in my family so it's quite an achievement that we havent wrecked our cars yet..(knocks on wood).
