Fits in pretty nice, that V8 Smile
Allthough i must say it's a pity to ruin the spirit of the AE86 with that huge engine.

Wow...you really can throw about anything in it..I was just looking at some pics of a 2JZ biturbo in a coupe, maybe eg6maxx will post the links some time. Looks like a lot of work though.
If this is all possible, I dont see why Mulisha wouldnt be able to drop an RB26DETT into his hachi. Still, I dont see the point of having such a large engine in the car if your not a dragracer.

Isn't this Bill from the billzilla site?
I thought a V8 would fit in easily, now I know for sure. Just don't assume that just about anything will fit in because a V8 fits; A V8 is an engine that, for its size' is VERY short and low. They are quite wide, but usually there is room to spare in these area's. Inline 6's are quite a bit longer then a V8 and often higher as well, thats why they dont fit easily.

You even don't have to ruin the handling or spirit of the car. V8's with aluminium heads are not that heavy and the all aluminium Rover V8 is actually lighter then a 4A-GE.

To me it looks like an Toyota/Lexus V8 (1UZ-FE, 2UZ-FE or 3UZ-FE for instance)

1UZ - 4.0 (from Toyota Soarer, Lexus LS400)
2UZ - 4.7 (from LandCruiser 100)
3UZ - 4.3 (from Lexus LS430, SC430 and so on)

I don't know the specs of these engines

//edit: i know for sure it's a Toyota V8, just look at the intake Wink

//edit2:

1UZ (most likely that the AE86 has this one) delivers 194 KW @ 5200RPM and 353Nm @ ????RPM
2UZ delivers 170kW @ 4800rpm (less than the 1UZ, but this one is more built for torque) and 410 Nm @ 3400RPM.
3UZ delivers 210Kw @ 5600RPM and 419Nm @ 3500RPM.

After a second look my eyes started focussing on the details, not on the engine. First thing I noticed: FWD offset wheels, and more importantly: 5 hole bolt patterns! The front suspension has been modified as well. Also the guy relocated his brake fluid reservoir very nicely...that setup looks like it would come in handy for turbo'd 4age's, since the brake fluid reservoir comes so dangerously close to the turbo..this also proves that the ae82 strutbars fit pretty good, as long as the brake fluid reservoir and wiper fluid reservoir are out of the way.

I bet that thing could drift all week at 2000RPM. WHOA, super cool mod. Still second place after the S2000 transplant which is my alltime favourite.

Hi guys.
A friend of mine in Aus built that car, and it's a 1UZ-FE in it. A W-57 gearbox and Crown diff. Much bigger brakes, with five-stud hubs.

I went for a ride in it, and it's FAST!! I reckon it'd do a 12 second 1/4 mile no problems.
It lit up the rear tyres in 1st, 2nd, and a most of 3rd gear.
But equally impressive was that he drove up to a typical street corner in 5th gear, didn't bother to change down and went happily around it still in 5th at maybe 800rpm odd, then accelerated away with ease.

Most impressive.

I was thinking of putting a 3.0L V6 4cam maseratti in a hachi! that would be nice Thumbs up!
Not to bloody powerfull, but lot of things you can improve. And its "smooth", perfect for narmal use, and then to kick some ass on the track in the weekends
