AFAIK the JDM fwd sprinter models were refered as AE81. Wink

EE80Liftback: 4A-F? Huh
I always assumed it would be powered by the 4A-C. Confused

AE/EE 80/82 people are more than welcome to hang around here.. but what I just dont understand is why you think the fwd corolla's open up a line to poor people who like the ae86. I would much rather own that silvia of yours, it comes ten times closer to the concept of an ae86 than an ae82 does.

Dont get me wrong, the ee80 is a perfectly fine cheap econobox, reliable too , and the ae82 gt is a great car to drive. But they're no closer to an ae86 than a silvia is IMHO. The older ke70 corolla's are much closer...RWD and the same basic chassis on the coupe models.

I couldn't agree with you more. That's why I'm not going to turn my car into project. If you want an AE86 just buy one, if you can't afford it and want something close at least buy something RWD.
