When i commit to something as major as this i always visit the person and check out there garage or workshop, previous customers and always make sure they have a good community rep.
That's why i would always recommend Damien on driftworks for any parts or AE86 works. hes a legend

I'm very sorry to hear your buy ended up this way.
 I'm not too sure about the court thing: it sound something very unreasonable to do and you two being in two different country will only complicate the matter. Going to court for 1500 euros would only cost money for both sides, so I don't see any wins in there.
