Hi, I have in November 2011 bought a rusty AE86. This car had been stopped since 1997. So as expected there is much work to do. The car was first here in the backyard, but that's no fun in the winter. So I first have made the brakes working. So the car was towed without the other car to crash. Luckily my parents have a heated garage, so we have the car towed there.

then wanted to see if the engine is still running, after replacing a few parts of the engine had a compression of 10 bar on all four cylinders. Not bad for an engine that did not run for 14 years. The motor runs at least on quick start because the fuel pump does not work. So the fuel tank only get under way. Well if you are going to start dismantling, then start right away with the rest.

A heated garage is awesome. Wave

I see you took the backpanel out. Do you have a replacement or just going to fix up the old one?

Anyway good luck with the resto.

hello,

I was planning to repair the old rear panel. Also because the original from the dealer is no longer available, otherwise it would be too expensive: P The bottom of the back panel had already been badly repaired. So that's why I only chose him to be removed.

I found the car somewhere in Fryslan, its original dutch plates are KS-18-HK.

I saw that te backpanel for the coupe is not available yet. And the origial panal is repairable, nothing a weldingmachine can't repair Smile

It was a little bit quiet here in this topic, because i was working on the car.
Luckly i made some pics of the work. The welding on the back end is almost done. In the next weeks i wil start the welding on the wheel arches.
