I did a head cleaning-porting (or whatever you call it) this afternoon.

At the intake side I did not so much. clean the part near the valve seats (look at the first 2 pics with red mark) and remove the bigger cast mistakes.

On the exhaust side I cut the valve guides, I can't imagine that the valves will break because of this. its not more than 3-4mm and only half side of the guide. I did the same on my brother-in-laws drift car which is 134 wheel hp and still works. With the original iron valve guides...

The head will be CC'd tomorrow it will tell how much to shave off and then go to resurface the valves + seats.

Awesome work - will attack mine again this weekend. Looks like I am on the right track. I have litterally just taken away the bare minimum and nothing more - having looked at your pictures you have answered my questions - I will remove the ridges / etc but if I have a shallow spot I will just blend what I can into the neighbouring area to keep it smooth and hand finish - rather than work the whole area to meet the shallow spot.
