Is this why perhaps my other 4age seemed a hell of a lot more responsive because it had higher comp pistons in it?

Am I really going to be able to make 150+ hp with my mods with these piddly pistons in comparison to high comp?

Turbocharge the fuck out of it! Thumbs up! Thumbs up!

Nah it'd ruin the driveability of the car - supercharge yes, turbocharge no.

Coming along nicely, although I wasn't a big fan of club4ag still a lot of info has been lost since it crashed.

Due to realising that I have indeed got 9.4:1 low compression pistons – I am yet to double check if I even have a 7 rib block – as I just assumed it would be!

Did the engines which these pistons were used in, run TVIS?

My TVIS did not work even though I swapped over two manifolds – it could just be a loom fault however.

Could someone clear that up for me poss?

All bigports were running TVIS. Simply put the TVIS is based on 4 parts:
the flaps with actuator, vacuum canister, vacuum hoses and trigger solenoid.
Obviously if any of those are faulty or wired/connected wrong way it won't work. Also a non TVIS ecu is a possibility.

Its not the ECU as that is still the original supplied with my MR2.

I did swap a working tvis manifold from my old mr2 engine onto this one and it didn't work, so it must be a loom fault.

Mercifully I do indeed have a 7-rib block!

So, if I have low comp pistons does that mean i have a low comp engine?

the block has technically nothing to do with compression - so yes low comp pistons equal low compression Wink
