4AGE 20V or 4AGZE ?
Well as my opinion on a 4AGZE.,I have to say it does the job on getting in front of most races as I can hit and launch it hard at the start, good for drags. The previous owner of my car broke his 6.7" LSD differential with the supercharger @ 6-8 PSI,as why he replaced it with a 7.9" diff.

4AGE 20V or 4AGZE ?
this choice IMO is based on preference. do you like NA or forced induction? if your on a budget, i think its cheaper to produce power with a gze than with an NA 4ag. if your not, there's no denying the sweet sound of an NA 4ag going full on!!!

i used bolt on mods and 3.9 final drive and i could easily mix it up with sr20det silvias Thumbs up!

putting a 2jz in an ae86 would definitely be fun....for drag. however, you'll need something stronger than a trd 2way on 86 diff.

2jz in a ae86 will throw of the balance of the car. The weight of the engine will not be good for the response.

ah 20v is n1 and simple. put some extra cams in it and you got around 180 hp on the crank. A gze is a perfect block to go supercharger or turbo. (take of the sc and put on a turbo)

Either way you need to invest alot of money to get a good setup. With drifting you wanne use a 2way (cusco or kaaz) trd is good to but more expensive.

4AGE 20V or 4AGZE ?
couple of years ago, I helped a mate and "watched" him build his sprinter for drifting.
He was drifiting and winning championships.
his drift cars... runs a blacktop 20V, turbocharged.

Met up with him again recently, now he runs a 3SG turbo beams motor
and a TARAGO diff.

THen again, I have seen him drift in a stock 4AC, no TRD whatsoever.

Which engine to build and what you want comes down to how much $$$ you have. You really should think about budget before thinking about building a motor.
Otherwise it would end up as another unfinished project.
