3rd door support gas springs (stay) - worn out
It is time to replace my old and worn 3rd door gas springs. Is there any replacement possibility from other vehicles? Any suggestions?

If the only problem with them is that they don't hold the hatch up (drops
on your head when you are getting something out of the back), then you might be able to get them re-gassed. There are businesses that do that by putting the whole strut into a steel tube, and pressurising the tube with nitrogen. This forces gas into the strut past the seal, and two minutes later you have a working strut  Could be worth asking around... ? Cheers... jondee86 |

Thanks, Jondee86. I found "Stabilus SG230008" as a perfect replacement but shipping from US to EU is a killer. The problem with my struts is pressure + worn ball & sockets, so I was thinking to replace them with new pair of struts.

I managed to fix the ball joint. I just replaced the old snap ring. The old one has been totally worn out and corroded. The compression is still acceptable so I think this is it for now
