Apart from this we also need funds for investments or in case something might happen: in the past one of the harddisks failed and we had to swap it with a new one. We also like to fund other things like merchandising. So, it's always good to have some funds available. Remember: nobody is obliged to pay for our service, everybody is free to choose whatever way they want to. If you appreciate what we are doing this is the way to express that. ;) Current costs We currently got our server colocated at ColoClue. They placed us in their rack Schuberg Philis. Currently they offer 100 GB free traffic per month. ColoClue offers full colocation, serial console and powerbar connections which are great advantage over other colocation firms. Most of them do not offer any backup access. In the beginning we used a second hand Sun Netra T1 server of 500 MHz, but after allmost a year it turned out the server couldn't cope with the massive increase of usage. We decided to buy a new one and swap it for the old server. The old server was sold for a fair price and we only lost 50 euros during one year. The new server should be sufficient for atleast the upcoming two years. PayPal / Creditcard You can donate by sending money via PayPal. This also works for Creditcard transactions. Don't forget PayPal isn't free: it costs about 5% of the amount transfered. This will be reduced from the amount transfered: if you donate €10, we will only receive about €9,53. European transfers cost between €10 and €20 (depending on which bank transfers the money) for the sender.
